Covid Protocol Updates

Dear Parents,

With the current high numbers of Covid cases on the island we would like to draw your attention to the following points and the tightening up of some of the Covid protocols:

– We have received instructions today from the Viceconsul of Education, University and Sport in collaboration with the Health Department and one of the recommendations is that the use of facemasks in school is now adopted from the 2nd Cycle of Infant Education (3, 4 and 5 year olds). This is compulsory from Primary upwards. If parents wish to send their child in a facemask please do so.

– The masks currently recommended are the surgical masks or the FFP2 style, not material masks.

– All children from age 3 upwards who attend the ‘Early Bird Club’ must come to school in a face mask as the children maybe in mixed groups.

– At Milton, any children from age 3 upwards arriving between 8:00 and 8:15 must wear a face mask as they are in the dining room until 8:15.

– All children taking part in after-school activities must bring a face mask to wear for the activity as they are mixed with children in other classes.

– The new Omicron varient of Covid has slighlty different symptoms, and can often start with a runny nose, making it seem like just a cold. Please be vigilant of any symptoms your child may have and keep your child off school until they have done an antigen test, received a negative result and their symptoms have gone.

We thank you for your collaboration and understanding.
