Fátima Pérez and David O'Kane in Canarias7

Colegio-Privado-Internacional-Britanico-Ingles-Las Palmas-Maspalomas-English-School-c7Today Canarias7 published articles from two members of our Secondary Department: Fátima Pérez and David O'Kane. They both tell us about their experiences with the S6 students in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Programme.

Fátima Pérez teaches Spanish Language and Literature at Canterbury School, and also tutors our S6 students in the Duke of Edinburgh's Programme. In her article today, she writes about the educational process our S6 students have gone through with the Duke of Edinburgh's Program, developing a radio programme in which they even got to interview the mayor of Las Palmas. Her article is titled: La Pecera Transparente.

As part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Programme, the S6 students also had to stage a full scale formal debate in front of a live audience at the school theatre. David O'Kane, Head of Sixth Form and Award Leader at Canterbury School, tells us in his article about the experiences he and his students went through with the development of this debate. His article is titled: Learning beyond the classroom.

We would like to strongly congratulate Fátima and David for these excellent articles and for their great work at school.
