Infant Newsletter

Colegio-Privado-Internacional-Britanico-Ingles-Las_Palmas-Maspalomas-English-School-y9optionsfairDear Parents: firstly a very warm welcome back after the Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year to you all!

We have now settled in to our lovely new school and over the last term safety features, such as fences, vinyl images on large glass panels and finger protectors to cover door hinges were all completed. As many of you will have seen, the children have begun to plant in our allotment area and are looking forward to seeing our first vegetables and herbs very soon! We will be continuing to develop our new school over the next two terms to provide the best we can for our children. Any suggestions or comments are always welcome as we are constantly striving to improve what we offer your children.

We remind you that all children from Nursery upwards need to be in school by 8:30 to avoid interrupting the classes and to ensure the children adapt well to the routines of school. The day starts off in all classes with lots of aural English work and children who arrive late miss this important input.

ENROLEMENT
If you wish to enrol any younger brothers and sisters to start at Canterbury School in September 2019 please contact the office for the matriculation papers, if you have not already done so.

ABSENCES
If for some reason your son/daughter is going to be absent from school, please communicate this to us by e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or write a note to the teacher.

MEDICATION IN SCHOOL
We remind you that if your child has any specific medical needs or allergies and /or needs medication in school please make sure that you have informed the class teacher and the office both orally and in writing. You need to fill out an authorization form in the office with instructions about what time and what dose the child needs. All medication must be in the original packaging. Any medication must be given by hand to a teacher or an assistant who will store it appropriately. For the safety of all children medicines must never be sent to school in a child's school bag.

DRESSING UP CLOTHES
If anyone has any clean dressing up clothes at home that they don't want please would you bring them into school as the children love to dress up in the role play areas. Also any clean adult clothes that you no longer want such as fancy dresses, jackets, bags...the children love to use to dress up in!

The last day of Term 2 is Friday 5th April 2019 and children may come to school wearing street clothes. The 3rd Term will begin on Monday 22nd April 2019.

Yours sincerely,
