Infant Newsletter

Circular_Infantil_Segundo_TrimestreDear parents: firstly a very warm welcome back after the Christmas holiday and a Happy New Year to you all!

We remind you that all children from Nursery upwards need to be in school by 8:30 to avoid interrupting the classes and to ensure the children adapt well to the routines of school. The day starts off in all classes with lots of aural English work and children who arrive late miss this important input.

If you wish to enrol any younger brothers and sisters to start at Canterbury School in September 2020 please contact the office for the matriculation papers, if you have not already done so.

If for some reason your son/daughter is going to be absent from school, please communicate this to us by e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or write a note to the teacher.
Remember all absences, even for one day, need to be justified in writing by parents. If we do not receive any communication from you the class teacher will send a justification form for you to fill in and return to school.

On the day of your child's class assembly you are invited to join us on the in the dining room at 9 a.m. to watch the assembly.

We will be celebrating Carnival with a party on Friday 21st February 2020. Children may come to school dressed in a carnival costume. Please remember that on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th February 2020 the school will be closed for our Carnival holiday.

This term the reports will be sent home in sealed envelopes with the children in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes on the last day of term, 3/4/20. We do not give out individual parent appointments in the second term, however as always, parents who wish to speak to the teacher about their child may ask for an appointment at any time.

Soon we are going to eat the bananas that we have grown in our school allotment! This term we are going to re-plant the allotment. If anyone has any suitable seeds or little plants at home that your child's class could plant, or wishes to help with the allotment, please speak to your child's class teacher.

If anyone has any clean dressing up clothes at home that they don't want please would you bring them into school as the children love to dress up in the role play areas. Also any clean adult clothes that you no longer want such as fancy dresses, jackets, bags...the children love to use to dress up in!

The last day of Term 2 is Friday 3rd April 2020 and children may come to school wearing street clothes. The 3rd Term will begin on Monday 20th April 2020.

Yours sincerely,

Pam Ainsworth
