Junior Schools Football Cup

Colegio-Privado-Internacional-Britanico-Ingles-Las Palmas-Maspalomas-English-School-football cupOn Tuesday 3rd March, Canterbury Primary Department played host to the American, British, La Higuerita and Oakley schools for the annual Football Cup day.

On the two pitches, a total of 20 matches were played during a frenetic and exciting two and a half hours.

In the 2º/3º grade age group, the American School were the champions. Canterbury finished just two points away in third place, with Pablo scoring a total of six goals.

In the 4º/5º grade, the trophy was won by... Canterbury School! Gregorio was outstanding, with a hat-trick in one game and the crucial winning goal in our final match.

Behaviour on and off the pitch at professional football grounds is often disgraceful, but the children showed once again that it is possible to play with desire and energy, and also with good humour and respect. Congratulations to all the children who took part, and thank-you to all the teachers involved, with a special thank you to Mr. Leatt who organised the morning.
