UK and International Universities 2012 (S5)

We would like to invite you and your son/daughter to a presentation concerning the University Visit Programme 2012. The presentation is designed to clarify the objective of the visit and give an overview of how Canterbury School prepares students for University life. The visit programme is designed specifically to aid your son/daughter to decide if studying abroad beyond Canterbury School is suitable for them and give them an invaluable insight into life at University in general

This unique opportunity will provide the students with the chance to visit several universities in the United Kingdom (visits will be made to universities in Bath, Bristol and London), and will form a vital part of your son/daughter’s introduction to the UCAS application process.

In addition, the visit programme will highlight the importance of the ‘Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’ and include numerous excursions and events designed to enhance the tangible and intangible skills competitive universities require prospective students to demonstrate. Whilst this programme is focused on those planning to study abroad, it is very relevant to those planning to study in Spain.

Higher Education is both an exciting and daunting prospect. With a clear understanding of what to expect it can be made a much easier and happier transition. I hope this visit presents your son/daughter with the opportunities they need to continue to be successful, enterprising forward thinking students.

The presentation will take place on Thursday 22nd September 2011 at 1615hrs in the School Theatre and we would urge you to attend. Please avoid accessing the school premises before 1605hrs, as problems with traffic and school buses will cause delays.
