Carla Garcia Medina S4 at Canterbury school, has designed and published an App called Soovie. The purpose of the App is to be able to see customer rating and read reviews about new and existing movies.
P6 Boomerangs
P6 students have spent the past months studying aboriginal art and boomerangs.
P6 Football
During the last 4 weeks all P6 houses have played football matches in the lunchtime. Many students played and there were some excellent matches.
Tomás Quesada, Champion
Tomás Quesada of S1A, champion of the Canary Islands and runner-up in the Spanish championship 2016, has won the Master Rafa Nadal. Congratulations Tomás, we are very proud!
Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards: Every year Cambridge distinguishes a group of students around the world for their success in their IGCSE, AS or A level exams in the previous year's examinations (June 2016).
S2 Options Fair
S4, S5 and S6 students offered their services as advisers for this year's S2 options fair.
P6-S2 Santa Cristina
233 students joined together at Santa Cristina for a super fun filled games day. The students and teachers joined together to help students learn to work as part of a team and to learn to help each other through sport and fun.
Cueva Pintada de Gáldar
Art and travel students combined a trip to see the painted caves in Galdar.
S3-S4 CAAM
Upper school art students visited the museum CAAM in Vegueta in order to see first hand the work of local and national artists.
S6 Thermal Power Station
As part of their A Level Geography studies, S6 visited the Spanish National Grid in Las Palmas, and the thermal power station at San Bartolome de Tirajana.
Food Bank
Last Friday 25 November students in the Secondary Dept donated 439 kg of food for the Food Bank of Las Palmas.
S1 Dodgeball
During the past 4 weeks the S1 students have been playing a house dodgeball competition.
P6-S2 Teide House Trip
The final house trip was Blue house who went to play team games at the beach. The students worked together to win house points and to learn to work as part of a team.
S3-S4 Museo Canario
Upper school art students got the chance to visit the museum of the Canaries to draw first hand the skulls and skeletons on show.
The Voice Orlando
The Voice drama group came all the way from Orlando (Florida) to work with our Secondary students. Their high energy drama workshops were enjoyed by all. We hope they can come back next year!
P6-S2 Timanfaya Trip
Red house went to the beach to play team games and to work together to get house points. Games played included, the team ski race, sack races, the wheelbarrow race and egg and spoon.
S3-S5 Casa Colón
S3, S4 and S5 art students visited Casa Colón. As part of the IGCSE and AS coursework the students are required to visit a local museum or art gallery and find a local artist who they can research for their personal projects. The first of the 3 visits to museums was to Casa Colón where there are many portrait paintings on display.
